On the 12th of March we gave birth to our beautiful sleeping son Jake. We held him in our arms and cherished every moment we could because when we said goodbye it really was forever .... Without the help of the amazing staff at St Marys special Ranbow unit we wouldn’t have been able to get through the hardest time in our lives. The warmth, care and emotional support from the hospital as well as family and friends was beyond incredible and for that we would like to raise money to build a new bereavement room in the ward as there are only two at the moment, The rooms are away from all of the other maternity rooms and they allow all your family to be in a safe space together, along with being close to all the nurses and doctors whilst you’re processing your loss and preparing to give birth. Stillbirth happens to so many people every year and without these bereavement wards and the Rainbow/Tommy Unit people wouldn’t get the support needed to help overcome such tragedy and also be able to safely go on to hopefully have more children. We want to thank not only St Marys but all our family and friends for helping us and supporting our family and this charity. Love Rema & Samuel
